The out of focus, finger shot

bokeh-604116_1280“Quick, quick take my photo! Right here in front of this thing that is about to disappear and never be seen again! QUICK!” We have all been there. The panic and the pressure are building up, you’re handed a phone or a camera with the clock ticking. You fumble with it, bringing it up to your face and pressing “picture” or whatever fangled button this device has. “Click.” It is taken, the pressure is off and you’re now free to go back to whatever you were doing previously, away from all that tension.
“What the hell is this?!” comes the bellow, “I asked you to do one thing!” You go back and look, in horror, at your handiwork. The face of the person has your thumb all over it; in your cold haste to get the job done you neglected that one basic rule of photography. You look at the second one you have taken, at least there’s no thumb in it this time. Instead it’s a blurry, unfocused mess. You have failed.
