I will not lie to you; I am pretty averse to having my picture taken. I do not like my face too much, especially in pictures, and can probably count the number of pictures that I look acceptable in on one hand. It is a strange phenomenon though – I get compliments about my appearance (although not as regularly as my fragile ego would like) but photographs remain the bane of my poor, vain existence.

I am not alone though. I have numerous friends who dive for cover when the words “Let’s take a group selfie!” are uttered, while others shove their big spoon faces front and centre (even if they shouldn’t!) Even some of the most beautiful people I know have real self esteem issues when it comes to letting people have a picture of their face. It’s an odd thing, to be sure, but one that will never go away.
